Students create a collograph transfer print using a cardboard "plate" (the plate can be art as well!):
- Draw images (face and symbols) on a cardboard "plate"--everything will be backwards, even lettering
- Glue various items to the drawing such as string, crumpled paper, cardstock, fabric, wrinkled foil, toothpicks, paper clips, etc. (only 3D items will transfer to the print)
- Seal the plate (Mod Podge, varnish, glue)
- Using water-based ink, add color to the plate using brushes or brayers (roller)
- Carefully place dampened paper on the plate and rub carefully, starting at one side and working across the entire paper
- Pull paper from plate and dry
Attach drawing to PlateStudents also used 1/2 of the large face drawing as a guide for the plate drawing
